 Grace Kelly's Timeless Elegance

Grace Kelly’s wedding to Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956 remains a timeless and iconic moment. Her wedding dress, designed by Helen Rose, the wedding dress designer and MGM Studios’ costume designer, and it is cited as one of the most elegant and best-remembered bridal gowns of all time, and one of the most famous since the mid 20th century. The high-necked lace bodice, long sleeves, and full skirt inspired generations of brides. This dress set the standard for understated yet regal bridal fashion. Silk needle lace (rose point), silk faille, silk tulle, and seed pearls.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art now owns the dress and displayed it at the museum.

Princess Diana's Fairytale Gown

Lady Diana Spencer’s wedding dress was an ivory silk taffeta and antique lace gown, with a 25-foot (7.6 m) train and a 153 yards (140 m) tulle veil, valued then at £9,000 (equivalent to $36,700 in 2021) The dress was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, who described it as a dress that “had to be something that was going to go down in history, but also something that Diana loved”, and which would be “suitably dramatic in order to make an impression”. The gown was decorated with hand embroidery, sequins, and 10,000 pearls, centering on a heart motif. With its puffy sleeves and ornate details, the gown embodied the romantic fashion of the 1980s.

The dress was part of the exhibition “Diana: A Celebration” and toured for many years. Ownership of Diana’s dress transferred from her brother to her sons in 2014.

Meghan Markle's Modern Chic

In 2018, Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry brought a breath of fresh air to royal wedding fashion. Designed by Clare Waight Keller artistic director of the fashion house Givenchy. Meghan’s dress featured a simple boat neckline, three-quarter sleeves, and a sleek silhouette. The minimalistic elegance of the dress highlighted Meghan’s modern style and individuality.

Angelina Jolie’s Whimsical Grace

Angelina Jolie’s 2014 wedding to Brad Pitt surprised many with its intimate and unconventional approach. For her dress, Angelina chose a white silk-satin Atelier Versace gown gathered at the bust with elongated train. The dress was reportedly crafted by Luigi Massi, and it looks like the luxury label’s Donatella Versace had a hand in it as well. What made this dress unique was the incorporation of her children’s artwork, hand-embroidered onto the veil and dress, adding a personal touch to her ensemble.

The bride’s veil was embroidered with flowers representing the countries of the Commonwealth; the California poppy, in honor of Markle’s home state of California; and winter sweet, a flower that grows at Kensington Palace.

Priyanka Chopra's Multi-Cultural Splendor

 Priyanka Chopra’s wedding to Nick Jonas in 2018 blended cultures and traditions seamlessly. Her custom Ralph Lauren gown featured a 75-foot veil, which had their love story intricately embroidered along its length. The gown was a symbol of her rich cultural heritage and the journey they were embarking upon together. It was hand-beaded and hand-embroidered dress featuring floral motifs, lace-effect tulle appliqués, scalloped sleeves and a high-neck collar.
